Why Counselling?

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons, from being rocked by a significant life event, to a general sense of dissatisfaction and distress with life that they are struggling to make sense of. Perhaps what you are feeling can't be adequately defined by a list of 'labels'. Perhaps you have a sense that your life is lacking in some way, that you feel unfulfilled and irritable for no specific reason and are finding things difficult.

Then again, some people come to counselling to achieve a greater understanding of their inner world, through self awareness to personal growth and a desire to reach their fullest potential.

Listed below are some of the problems seeing a counsellor could help you with:
• Depression that may manifest with some of the symptoms described on a separate page here:
• Stress
• relationship issues (sorry not couples)
• Work related distress and anxiety
• Workplace bullying
• Lack of confidence
• Low self esteem
• Loss or bereavement
• Self harm
• Drug and/or alcohol abuse
• Childhood trauma and/or abuse

Don't worry if what you are experiencing isn't covered in this short list, I would be happy to speak with you to see what your best options might be.
